Camp Nurse
Many thanks to the camp nurses that so wonderfully served this past summer. We're proud to continue our volunteer camp nurse program.
At Camp Rockfish, we take Safety very seriously. Our mission is “To glorify God by making visible the life-changing love of Jesus Christ.” We are seeking licensed registered nurses who are willing to volunteer as the Camp Nurse for a one-week period (Sunday noon until Saturday morning).
The Camp Nurse plays a critical role in the safety and success of the summer camp program. The Camp Nurse’s responsibilities entail:
-
Administration of over the counter and prescription medicines
-
Stocking and maintenance of heath center inventory and general cleanliness of the health center
-
Communicating with the camp physician when needed
-
Receiving and checking health forms at registration, collecting medicines from campers, reporting special dietary needs to the kitchen staff, and informing other staff of any special medical needs of campers in their care
-
Examining campers and staff with health related complaints, treating complaints according to the physician’s standing orders, and administering first aid
-
Communicating with camp staff, notifying them of any potentially unhealthy or hazardous situation and communicating with parents as needed
-
Logging every visit to the health center, processing insurance claims forms and accident reports
-
Returning medication to parents at the end of each camp session
In return for providing these valuable services,
Camp Rockfish will provide:
Air-conditioned housing in our Bergland Adult Retreat Center
-
Appetizing meals for the entire camp week
-
Scholarships for up to two campers (K-8th grade) in either day or one in resident camp (campers must register for camp; availability of all camps is first-come, first-serve)
-
Children in your immediate family younger than kindergarten may come to camp with you provided you provide supervision for them at all times
-
A camp staff t-shirt
