RETREAT INFORMATION, GENERAL POLICIES, AND AGREEMENTS
Please review these agreements with everyone in your group before arriving at Rockfish Camp & Retreat Center.
Upon arrival, one of our staff's will go over these agreements and give orientation of the site with the leader and
possibly your participants at an arranged time. Please remember to sign and return one copy along with your
retreat reservation form and deposit.
Welcome to Rockfish Camp & Retreat Center. The Rockfish Camp & Retreat Center is a community made up of many groups and persons and in order to function as a community, we must have rules or what we like to call, "Agreements."
The following Agreements are in no way meant to infringe upon you and your having a good time and wonderful stay at Rockfish. They are to help us maintain order and ensure that all of our members are happy campers. The main focus is for us to respect our neighbors and to help you and others have a pleasant and safe visit. Please abide by all Agreements (rules) as they apply to your group.
All we ask is that you play safe, have fun, obey the rules and respect our and your neighbors. Your cooperation and consideration will be greatly appreciated. We hope your stay here is pleasant and enjoyable. Please ask a Rockfish staff member for any further explanations or assistance.

Phones are located at Dining Hall, Log Cabin office, and the Staff residences.
Please check the location of the available phone for your Group.
When a life-threatening or serious emergency occurs please:
1) Call EMS
2) Care for victim to the extent of your ability
3) Care for others including removing them from the scene
4) Send someone to the front gate to meet EMS and show him or her to the location of the emergency.
5) Contact Rockfish Camp & Retreat Center staff.
Insurance: Groups are expected to carry their own group insurance or to verify that each person has their own family/personal insurance. Rockfish Camp & Retreat Center does not carry illness or accident insurance for retreat groups.

Kitchen: The Kitchens are for adults and staff only. If you are preparing your own meals in the Log Cabin, please follow
the food handling, cleaning and dishwashing instructions posted in those areas. Temperatures for the refrigerator and
wash/rinse waters need to be noted in logs provided in kitchens. If the refrigerator and wash/rinse waters are not at
acceptable temperatures, please notify center staff as soon as possible. Meal times for those eating in our dining
facility: breakfast 8:00 am, lunch 12:00 noon and dinner 5:30 pm unless otherwise notified by Rockfish staff.
Please be on time as a group for each meal If your group is conducting a meeting in the dining hall, you may need to
break 30 minutes prior to meal so kitchen staff can set up your buffet.
Quiet hours in camp are 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Groups are responsible for their participant's behavior while at the center. All children/youth under the age of 18 are to be
under the supervision of a responsible adult at all times during your stay at the center, including activities where Rockfish
staff is providing leadership. We recommend the following for adult supervision to camper ratios: children 1 to 5, youth 1-
8. Your group or participant(s) or leader(s) will be held accountable for any damage or destruction done to the center's
property, equipment or facilities.
Supervise all children and non-swimmers by lake/creek. Swimming is not permitted in the lake/creek.
Appropriate attire at Rockfish Camp & Retreat Center includes shirts, shoes and shorts or pants. When swimming, a modest one-
piece suit is required.
Rockfish Camp & Retreat Center is not responsible for any personal property or equipment belonging to your group or your
group's leaders or participants that is lost, damaged or stolen during your stay here.
Groups are advised to bring an adult(s) who have current CPR, first aid and Preventing Disease Transmission/Blood-
borne Pathogen certifications from a nationally-recognized provider such as American Red Cross to be on duty for their
group's emergency care. During your stay with us at Rockfish, if you need additional health care assistance or first aid
supplies, please go to the dining hall or to the office for assistance. If you need to take someone to Urgent Care or the
Emergency Room, please see center staff for directions.
Please bring with you the names, addresses, emergency contact names and numbers, health history and current health
conditions or special health considerations of all persons attending your event or retreat. For minors without a parent on
site, please have a signed permission slip or a signed religious waiver in the event the minor should need emergency treatment.
All firearms and weapons (including BB guns and sling shots) are prohibited from the property. This includes those
permitted to carry concealed weapons.
Alcohol/Illegal drugs are not permitted on the property, nor are anyone under their influence.
All fireworks are not permitted on the property.
No pets are permitted on the Center's grounds.
Please only smoke outside of the buildings. Please put cigarette filters and other tobacco litter in trashcans.
If you notice someone in your area that may be an intruder, please contact a Rockfish staff member (a staff person can
normally be found at the office or dining hall),
Vehicles: Vehicular traffic shall only be allowed on designated roadways and parked in designated parking areas. Please
do not park where a vehicle may block a driveway or road. The speed limit in camp is 10 mph.BE CAREFUL and
WATCH for CHILDREN and BIKES. This is for everyone's safety. Please park only in the designated parking area for
your site (Rockfish staff will indicate designated parking areas upon your arrival). Riding in the back of pick-up trucks is
prohibited. No one shall operate any vehicle without a license. Pedestrians ALWAYS have the right of way!
Personal Sports Equipment: Hunting is not permitted. Bows and arrows are not permitted. ATV's, off-road motorcycles
or any other unlicensed vehicles cannot be used. Bicycles are allowed on roads only (not on trails). Persons bringing bikes
must comply with all state and center regulations. Small watercraft is acceptable provided that the owner acts safely and
in accordance with the state and the center's regulations when boating. If you are bringing your own watercraft, the
center's office needs to be notified two weeks prior to arrival. All personal sports equipment is to be stored in an orderly
manner located near your reserved area.
Canoeing/Paddle Boating/Kayaking: A staff member will review canoe and paddle boat instructions with the leader of
your group or with all your participants' prior to use. Canoe and paddleboat instructions are also posted by the life
jackets. Groups are advised to provide an adult(s) who have lifeguard training certification or watercraft certification with
use of canoes and/or paddleboats from a nationally recognized provider such as American Red Cross. Ratio for aquatic-
certified person to users/participants is 1 to 25. Before engaging in the activity, please have your certified leader review the
emergency procedures listed at the canoe shed. In addition to the certified person, please provide 2 adults (18 and older)
for supervision during aquatic activities.General Rules: Stay in the boat at all times. Persons under the age of 18
are to stay within sight and sound of an adult. EVERYONE MUST wear a life jacket (life jackets must be
fastened). No tipping. NO EXCEPTIONS. Please wear closed shoes (tennis shoes) while boating. Use of these
watercrafts is a scheduled activity through the Rockfish office two weeks prior to your group's arrival Please
respect our equipment by not dragging canoes or sitting in them while on the ground and returning all equipment to the
location as you found them at the end or your activity. Also return lifejackets and paddles to their proper place. Persons
using any of the watercraft equipment need to log in on the "Checkout Roster" posted at the canoe shed the date and time
and what was used.
The Group Challenge Course (including Ferny Trail), Climbing Wall and Maintenance area is off limits unless
participating in supervised activity with a Rockfish staff member. Use of Group Challenge Course and Climbing Wall is a
scheduled activity through the camping office two weeks prior to your group's arrival.
Campfires are requested to be in designated areas only, used for cooking or evening campfires. Please limit to 2 hours.
Never leave the fire unattended. Only dead wood on the ground is to be used. Keep safety equipment such as shovels and
buckets of water readily available. Extinguish the fire completely when finished.
Please help us preserve Rockfish Camp & Retreat Center by putting trash in its proper place (trash cans). Please place aluminum
cans in the tall green containers located throughout the Center.
You must stay in your assigned area after dark unless on an organized adult supervised activity.
Children must be at least 9 years old to sleep in upper bunks.
Food and beverages are prohibited in the rooms in the Bergland Center.
Please turn thermostats down and lights off when you leave a building.
Use only those buildings assigned for your use and stay out of all others.
Please wear shoes everywhere you go.
Telephone use is limited to adults. Please DO NOT ANSWER PHONE. Please limit number and length (3 minutes) of
calls since this is a business number.
All persons are expected to cooperate with any reasonable request made by a Rockfish Camp & Retreat Center Staff member.

Rockfish Camp & Retreat Center reserves the right to dismiss any individual or group from its property for failure to abide by any
policies, illegal activity, or concern for theirs or others health and safety.
Rockfish Camp & Retreat Center, in conjunction with retreat leaders, reserve the right to inspect living areas and personal
property once reasonable suspicion of a crime or policy infringement has been established.
Please treat the center and its equipment with care and respect.
All Groups are requested to leave their areas clean. Please sweep out any buildings used, put trash and recycling in its
place and put any items moved back to their original location.
Remember: Be good stewards of God's World. Please help us protect the center's natural resources so that everyone
may enjoy its beauty. Rockfish Camp & Retreat Center is full of interesting and precious vegetation and wildlife. Please do not
dig holes, pick plants, or catch or kill any wildlife without first checking with the center's staff. Take nothing but memories and pictures, leave nothing but footprints.
REMEMBER YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE NUMBER YOU TURN IN 2 WEEKS (or 12 weeks, please
see your reservation form) PRIOR TO YOUR RESERVATION DATE, OR THE NUMBER THAT ATTENDS
WHICHEVER IS GREATER. Please remember you are responsible to meet the minimum required for your
area you have reserved.
